Obituary of Carmelia M. DeFiccio - Ziegler

Carmelia M. DeFiccio - Ziegler, (nee LaMonaca), 79, of Hammonton passed away on Tuesday, December, 9, 2014 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway Township. Born in Philadelphia she was a lifelong resident of Hammonton, and a graduate of St. Joseph's High School. After graduating from high school she was a trained laboratory technician and she worked at St. Agnes Hospital in Philadelphia. Carmelia also had worked with her late husband, Bobby on the family farm, DeFiccio Brothers Farms Inc., where she specialized working in the greenhouses. Carmelia was an artist and she was a member of the Hammonton Arts Center, and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Hammonton. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert L. DeFiccio Sr., her son, Ken DeFiccio, and her parents, Hugh and Bridget LaMonaca Sr. She is survived by her husband, Karl Ziegler; four sons, Robert L. DeFiccio Jr. (Mary Jo) of Lawrenceville, Joseph V. DeFiccio, Donald DeFiccio (Judi), Jerry DeFiccio (Fran) all of Hammonton; one daughter, Bridget DeFiccio (John O'Donnell) of Clarksboro; two brothers, Hugh LaMonaca Jr. (Jeanette) of Hammonton, Edward LaMonaca of Audobon; one sister, Louise Wigglesworth (Bob) of Ft. Myers. FL. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, Kristen, Beau, Amanda, D.J., Evan, Brianna, Tessa, Nic, Matt, Sarah, and Nick, two great grandchildren, Braedon and Aliyah and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A viewing will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. There will be no Viewing on Thursday morning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua, 285 Route 206 in Hammonton. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's High School, 328 Vine Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037, www.stjoek12.org.
