Obituary of Robert W. Patton

Robert W. Patton, 90, of Whiting recently passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2015 in Hammonton, NJ. Bob was born in Newark, grew up in Essex Fells and lived much of his life in Bridgewater and South Jersey. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and later graduated from Rutgers University where he met the love of his life, Shirley. Bob was an avid golfer and achieved the life-long goal of any golfer; a hole-in-one. As a father he was involved in Boy Scouts and Little League. Bob and his wife were long time members of the Toms River Yacht Club where they made many great friends and enjoyed various club events. Bob worked in sales for Hammond, Inc. for many years and after retirement spent his time as a real estate agent. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Patton (nee Strouse), his daughter Nancy Quinn of Cherry Hill; two sons, Robert W. Patton of Fort Myers, FL; Richard A. Patton of Calistoga, CA., six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Robyn, Dan, Tarek, Katie, and Lauren and one great grandchild: Evan.
