Obituary of Marie Byrnes

Marie Byrnes, (nee Arena) 95, of Buena, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at home. Born in Hammonton she was a lifelong South Jersey resident. Mrs. Byrnes formerly worked as a seamstress for Kessler Clothing Co., Bertino's Manufacturing both of Hammonton and DiPaola's in Egg Harbor. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. Mrs. Byrnes was predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. Byrnes. She is survived by her four sons, Thomas Byrnes and his wife Joyce of Ventnor, Timothy Byrnes of Stratford, Gregory Byrnes and his wife Betty of Mullica, Richard Byrnes and his wife Terry of Mays Landing; six grandchildren, Patrick Byrnes and his wife Natalie, Michael Byrnes and his wife Sharon, Michelle Surprise and her husband Alistair, Alan Byrnes, Erin Byrnes and Kirstie Byrnes and her 2 great grandchild, Brooklyn and Joseph. A viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 from 10:00am - 11:30am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French St., Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 6550 Deliah Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
