My cousin Frank was a dedicated and honest captain. You do not see much of that anymore. His family was always important to him. He will be missed.

Over the years there have been numerous males in Hammonton who were coached by Frank in baseball & football, but there was & can only ever have been one Franlk
LaSasso. He was the only person who could ,on one hand, accolade you to the heavens, but which could be followed by the harshest correction 5 minutes later..Amazingly, he was capable of both assessments, because he was accurate, & we all respected him for his talents. He had no time for gibberish, because he was a fierce competitor, regardless of whomever were the opposing players & or coaches.
Frank's teams never had losing records, but in fact, his players had phenomenal winning streaks at every level in the Hawks, Little League, Junior League, & even high school.. I might add that he was able to get the most out of his athletes regardless of one's playing abilities. In fact. it might be stated that very, very few of the Hammonton schools coaches could surpass Frank in motivation, discipline,, tactics, game startegy, & intensity throughout his somewhat minimal 30 years of mentoring & coaching. Frank should have been a fulltime professional coach due to his abilities, as almost every athlete would concur, whereas a few parents may have not seen it similarly. The different perspective was easy to understand, because Frank LaSasso could not be & never ever was influenced by any form of partiality. I only ever played in one game for him, but without comparison , Frank was the best coach that I ever had the joy & honor to tutor me. He was a true role model of how to handle people, students, & athletes, & it goes without saying that we lost a great coach, mentor, law enforcement officer, town citizen, & human being who never asked anything from us, except to be the most outstanding person we had to be when he worked with & for us. Thank you for everything, Frank, because you elevated the level of every youth who you had the opportunity to help.& guide. Heaven awaits you.
