Obituary of Amelia Vazquez

Amelia Vazquez, 76, of Hammonton passed away at home on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico she has lived in Hammonton for almost sixty years. Before retiring Amelia worked at Lenox China in Galloway, and she had also worked at Kessler Clothing Factory and Romolo's Pants Company both in Hammonton. She had been honored as the Mother of the Year by the Puerto Rican Civic Club in Hammonton. She was predeceased by her son, Johnny Vasquez and thirteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by her beloved husband, Leonidis Vazquez, her son, Freddy Vasquez Sr. (Martha Martinez), her daughter, Tatianna Vazquez (Kelvin Barreto), four grandchildren, Freddy Vasquez Jr. (Alyssa), Samuel Vasquez (Veronica), Jonathan Vasquez, and Kailanys Mariee Barreto, her sister, Rosa Mercado, her brother, Freddy Mercado and four great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton.
