Coach "D" you were one of a kind. I have so many great memories of you when I had the honor of coaching with you. You helped me a lot during my early days not just about coaching but kid. The players loved you because you were you. Some of the stuff you did was pure genius. What a pair you and Joe Cacia made and I got to see it first hand. Both of my kids went to READ and were better off for the experience. Best of all you were my friend and I will always be thankful for that. Heaven is a better place today because you're there making someone happy. RIP. Go Tide.

I have the best memories of Coach D! What an amazing coach and mentor! He was just such a positive force in this world and we are all better for having been known him. I was a pretty crappy basketball player; couldn't shoot worth anything but I could rebound. He was always fair and square with everyone. RIP Coach.

I was extremely saddened to learn of Vince’s death. I have only fond memories of “Coach” from his days teaching and mentoring in the Hammonton School System. In the 1970s, Vince was President of the HEA (Hammonton Education Association), and I was the Vice-President, serving with him for 3 or 4 years. At first, I was awed by Vince’s reputation of being an All-American football star at the University of Alabama, but after I got to know him, Coach DeLaurentis was the nicest, down-to-earth gentleman you would ever want to meet. I will always remember the time and preparation the two of us had spent getting ready for teacher contract negotiations with the Board of Education, and I soon learned that Coach could be tough and to the point when it was necessary. May God bless Coach’s loving family. “Windy” will be remembered as a terrific athletic instructor, and as a model citizen for those students who were lucky enough to be in his classes. His stellar example was definitely a worthy one for his fortunate pupils to imitate into their adult lives.
