Obituary of Mary S. DeMarco

Mary Susan (Verrech) DeMarco of Hammonton died February 18, 2022, at the age of 98. She will be remembered for generously welcoming family and friends into her home, for countless Sunday dinners and delicious baked goods, and for the love that she gave to all in her life.
Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 15, 1923 — the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. In 1942, she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Lancaster, Pa. Before her marriage to Anthony J. DeMarco of Hammonton in August of 1944, Mary worked at Bendix Aviation in Philadelphia. During WWII, she also performed with the United Service Organizations (USO). After they were married, she worked for many years with her husband on their farm, DadSon Farm, located on Pleasant Mills Road. She also worked at Waldman & Greenberg clothing factory and, for two decades, at Whitehall Laboratories.
Mary is survived by her loving family her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte R. Cessato, Anita and Paul Hoffman, and MaryAnn and Hank Rizzotte. She was the beloved grandmother of Melissa and Dr. Stefano Costanzi, Bill Cessato, MarySusan and Brian Attard, Hank Rizzotte, and Cynthia and Frank Rongone. She loved her three great-grandchildren: Victoria Costanzi, Brayden Attard, and Frank Rongone. Survivors also include her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Samuel Fulginiti, sisters-in-law Gladys Tomasella and Stella Daniello, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, her father and mother John and Mary (LoSasso) Verrech, her brother Joseph Austin Verrech, her sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Clyde Gantz, and her son-in-law William J. Cessato.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 22, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, located at 285 Route 206 in Hammonton, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The Mass will be followed by entombment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton. The family kindly asks attendees to wear masks. Donations in Mary's name may be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation PO Box 1066, Hammonton, NJ 08037 or to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish (to benefit St. Anthony's Church) 226 French St., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
