Obituary of Anastacio Rosario Mendoza

Anastacio (Junior) Rosario Mendoza, 73 of Hammonton, NJ passed away on February 21, 2022 at AtlantiCare Medical Center Mainland Campus. Anastacio was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Miguelina Berdecia and Anastacio Rosario Ortiz on April 20, 1948. He came from Puerto Rico in 1980 and resided in Hammonton for over 40 years. He worked as a construction worker, farm worker and security guard in Puerto Rico. He enjoyed playing the guitar/cuatro, watching boxing, and baseball. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Puerto Rican Civic Association. Anastacio is survived by his wife, Carmen of Hammonton, his daughter, Madeline Rosario of Hammonton, his brothers, Miguel Rosario, Luis Berdecia, Julio Berdecia, his sisters, Irma Munoz, Elba Berdecia, Carmen Berdecia, Jackie Rosario, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Miguelina Berdecia, his father, Anastacio Rosario Ortiz, and brother, Ruben Berdecia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where a viewing will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
