Barbara Grimes was closely one of the most exceptional secretaries I had the honor of knowing. There was nothing she could not overcome in the guidance office to the point she transcended every task, obstacle, or issue. Not only was she a problem solver, but she was a master of collaborating projects into simplistic timelines ,as the guidance office could not be efficiently managed without multitask hats.I had so much confidence & respect for her that I hired her to run the guidance office at another school system, & once again she performed at an unequalled efficiency. Needless to say that her interaction with the students was flawless at all times. The love of her life was her cat, Romeo, which exemplified her respect & kindness to all creatures. Unfortunately, she was involved in a horrific car accident which kept her in phenomenal pain constantly, but she never, ever conplained, or allowed this to interfere with her great skils & efficiency. I loved Barbara as a friend,& as a coworker as the guidance office effectiveness was due more to her than to the counselors. I always felt that I worked for Barbara's knowledge, her skills, her attitude, & her persona, which allowed me to be more available to my students. Without her, the students would have suffered in their needs. I am deeply saddened by her passing, as her last years were too isolated for someone who offered so much to others, but there is no other way to describe her other than that she was a gigantic, phenomenal human being with considerable compassion ,skills,& intelligence which were unequalled.Barbara, I will never be able to replace what you were, & it is so important that you recognize how special you were to me & al the students. I look forward to interacting with you in my dreams
