Larry L. Jones, 88, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. Born on November 21, 1934, Larry was raised in Shelby, Ohio, graduated from Shelby High School, and was a former member of the Lions Club in Ohio. He and his family relocated to Hammonton in 1972, where he was a crew leader and linesman for Atlantic City Electric Company. Larry thoroughly enjoyed his work and took great pride in his career; he was awarded a 55-year membership pin from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW.) He was a longtime, faithful member of the Hammonton Presbyterian Church. Larry's hobbies included fishing, traveling, home renovation, watching the Philadelphia Phillies, playing the slot machines at the casino, and scratching off lottery tickets. His greatest enjoyment came when spending time with his family, who he truly loved, including the "grand-dogs" and all of the family pets. He also loved coffee, wine, cigars, working on cars, woodworking and helping family and friends with their home projects. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Gladys Jones; parents in law, Joseph and Lois Laubie; his brothers, Paul and James; his sisters, Sylvia Rathgeb and Lou Ann Sheets; his brothers in law, James Laubie and Doug Williams; his son in law, Collin Brill; his great-grandsons, Ezra and Benjamin Scheffler. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years (67 on June 1) Margaret Jones (nee Laubie); his six children, Sheryl Wilson (Dave), Peggy Hoffman (John), Larry "Brad" Jones (Patricia), Catherine Brill, Jennifer Jones-Rodriguez (Luis) and Samantha Vettese (Robert); his grandchildren, Sarah Duca, Emily Scheffler, Larry "LJ" Hoffman, Alexander Jones, Luis Rodriguez, Tristan Rodriguez, Lia Vettese and Max Vettese; his four great-grandsons, Matthew and Charles Duca and Byram and Henry Scheffler; his sister, Ruthanne Goff; his sister in law, Carol Williams and his brother in law Jeff Laubie and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, 11:30 am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.
