Obituary of Arnold Philip Monahan

Arnold (Phil) Monahan, Jr., 85 of Collings Lakes, NJ passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. Born in Camden he was a longtime resident of Collings Lakes, NJ. Before retiring he served as a Police Sergeant with the City of Camden Police Department. He had also worked for the Casino Control Commission in Atlantic City and he also worked at the NJ Racing Commission (Garden State & Atlantic City). He was a member of PBA Local No. 35 and the FOP Lodge No. 1. He enjoyed going to the horse races, the casinos, loved his M&M's, and he was avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Matilda Monahan, and his two sisters, Emma and Pat. He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Frances Monahan (nee Williams) whom he adored and thought she was the most Beautiful Woman in his eyes, three children, Michael Monahan (Pam), Michelle Zarrella (Mike), and Kimberly Gatchell (Rich), and seven grandchildren who meant the world to him, Danielle, Tyler, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Anthony, and Connor, and one sister, Kathryn Bowman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM for both Phil and Frances at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where a visitation will be held after 10:00 AM. Frances his beloved wife of sixty two years passed away just five days after Phil on December 14, 2023. Entombment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton where Phil and Frances will be entombed together.
