Obituary of Rita Geroni

Rita Geroni (nee Silipino), 94, of Hammonton passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway Township. Rita was born in Hammonton and she was a lifelong resident there. Before retiring she worked as a seamstress at several clothing factories in the Hammonton area working last at Castleford Tailors. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Worker's Union. She frequently attended the Atlantic County Senior Center on Bellevue Avenue in Hammonton and enjoyed her time there with friends. Rita enjoyed baking, Bingo, helping her nephew at Showcase Sports and spending time with family and friends.

Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerry M. Geroni, her sister, Grace French and her brothers, Anthony, Frank, Nantz, Benjamin, Joseph, and Salvatore. She is survived by her nephews, Salvatore Silipino Jr. (Nancy), Ronald Silipino (AnneMarie), Douglas Barbieri, and her nieces, Debbie Gazzara (Robert), Yvonne Santora, Maryann Delfino, Dolores Sharabba, Rita Shotwell,and Joann Barbieri. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, 226 French Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
