Obituary of Josephine C. Sparta

Josephine C. Sparta, (nee Matulewicz), 68 of Hammonton passed away Sunday in Virtua Hospital in Berlin. Born in Camden she was a lifelong South Jersey resident. Mrs. Sparta was a mail carrier for over 25 years at the Hammonton Post Office. She was predeceased by her daughter Annette F. Carrelli. Mrs. Sparta is survived by her husband, Peter Sparta, her son and daughter in law, Peter A. and Jan Sparta of Hammonton, two brothers, Eddie Matulewicz and his wife Irene of Stratford; John Matulewicz of Texas; two sisters in law, Marie Synder of West Palm Beach, FL; Becky Sparta of Hammonton, her brother in law, Dick Heard of Boulder, MT, and five grandchildren, Rachael Sparta, Peter A. Sparta, II, Robert Sparta, Holly Ann Carrelli and Allison Carrelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish in St. Martin de Porres RC Church, Park Ave. & Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton. Burial will follow in Atco Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday morning 9:00am until 10:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton.
