Obituary of Joseph A. Salvo

Joseph A. Salvo, "Boston Joe" 71 of Hammonton passed away on Tuesday at Temple University Health System in Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. Mr. Salvo attended St. Joseph's High School in Hammonton. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran , and he served on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. Prior to retiring he worked for Ace Oil Company in Hammonton. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 1658 in Hammonton since 1972 , where he formerly served as Recording Secretary. He coached baseball at the Hammonton Little League for many years. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Salvo. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Salvo (nee Lagroteria), two sons, David Salvo of Cape May Court House, and Brian Salvo and his wife Karen of Hammonton, one daughter, Sueann Irwin and her husband John of Folsom, five grandchildren, Olivia Salvo, David Salvo, Jr., Luke Salvo, Joey Salvo and Samantha Irwin, and his sister in law, Delores Salvo of Hammonton. A visitation will be held Friday September 14, 2012 from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
