Obituary of Anthony J. DeMarco

ANTHONY J. DEMARCO, 94 of Hammonton, N.J., passed away peacefully on February 8, 2016. Anthony, who was born in 1921, was a lifelong resident of Hammonton.
Anthony owned DadSon Farms on Pleasant Mills Road in Hammonton, a business that he and his father founded. He was recognized for his agricultural achievement early on in his career and earned the Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 1955. In addition to his work on the farm, He spent many years serving his community through elected office. He was a member of the Hammonton Board of Education for fifteen years and served on Hammonton Town Council for eight. Anthony was a proud member of the Hammonton High School Class of 1940 and felt a sense of accomplishment since he was the first member of his immediate family to graduate from high school. He was a parishioner at Saint Anthony of Padua Church/Saint Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish where he served as an usher.
Anthony is predeceased by his parents, Philip and Mamie DeMarco; by his brothers, Rocco, Carmen, Philip and John ; and by his sisters, Carmella Merlino and Rita Amedio. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Mary S. (Verrech) also three daughters: Charlotte Cessato, the wife of the late William J. Cessato; Anita Hoffman, the wife of Paul Hoffman; and MaryAnn Rizzotte, the wife of Hank Rizzotte. He is also survived by three sisters Gladys Tomasella, Rose Merlino, and Stella Daniello; five grandchildren; Melissa Costanzi(Stefano), Bill Cessato, MarySusan Attard(Brian), Hank Rizzotte and Cynthia Rongone(Frank) as well as great-granddaughter Victoria Costanzi.
A viewing will be held on Saturday February 13, from 9 am until 11am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, followed by entombment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Old Forks Road/White Horse Pike, Hammonton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Parish for outdoor lighting at Saint Anthony of Padua Church.
