Obituary of John A. DiMeglio
John A. DiMeglio, 73, of Hammonton passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Born in Philadelphia he was a lifelong Hammonton resident. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School and Glassboro State College. John was a farmer, and he owned and operated Sandy Hill Fruit Farms. He also formerly taught at Berlin Community School. John was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the golf course. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge 1658 in Hammonton since 1972, where he formerly served on the House Committee. He was a member of the Camden County Board of Agriculture where he formerly served as President, the Camden County Agricultural Development Board where he formerly served as Vice-Chairman, and the Burlington, Camden and Ocean County Soil Conservation District where he formerly served as a Board Member. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary R. DiMeglio and his sister Rita DiMeglio-James. John is survived by his two daughters, Lisa DiMeglio-Quinlan (James); Michelle DiMeglio; his sister, Arlene Chiumento (James); his grandson, Connor Quinlan; his companion, Alice Campione-Lemons all of Hammonton and several loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 1, 2017 10:00am in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton. A viewing will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 6:30pm - 9:00pm at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 6550 Delilah Rd. #501, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
