Obituary of Lena A. Balsama

Lena A. Balsama, (nee Sorrentino), 92, of Hammonton passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, with her loving husband Sal by her side at the Hammonton Center for Rehabilitation. Born in Hammonton she was a lifelong resident. Lena was a merchandising clerk for Jamesway Dept. Store in Hammonton for 25 years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Augie, Joseph, and Tony Sorrentino; her sisters, Rose Santilli and Jennie Santelli. Lena is survived by her husband of 70 years, Salvatore Balsama; two daughters, Diane Fricke and her husband John of Hammonton, LeeAnn Ruggeri of Vineland; one son Tony Balsama of Surprise, AZ; one brother, Paul Sorrentino (Claire) of Hammonton; her grandchildren, Kevin Fricke, Kelly Emmel (Patrick), Kendra Devens (Daniel); Ashley Bash (Troy); her great grandchildren, K.J., William, Sarah, Chase, Jocelyn and Lila. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 19, 2018 12:00 PM in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph's 226 French St., Hammonton, where a viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, 226 French St., Hammonton, NJ 08037. Arrangements are by the Carnesale Funeral Home, Hammonton.
