To a leader I never met: Over the weekend, you left from this world on a journey that many awesome people in my life have already taken. They will be waiting for you, and you'll have plenty of good company where you're headed to. The world was a little brighter because you were around. You gave us a son who came into my life when I was facing adversity and sadness, and he brought me sorely needed smiles and laughter, for which I will be forever grateful. From what he said of you in conversation, I could tell that you meant a lot to him, as I am sure you meant a lot to so many others...and you mean something to me, even though you were a leader I never met...

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. Both of your parents were wonderful people! I always loved spring and summer on Piney Hollow Road. Between my Dad and yours, they were always outside working in the yard and gardening. I LOVED IT when I would come home from work and find a couple bags of your Dad’s harvest on my back porch! I loved having your parents for neighbors. Wonderful people. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
