I met Bill while working on our doctorate and became fast friends. We kept in touch as much as we could and I found Bill to be one of the best people on the planet. I will miss him so much. God Bless!

Bill and I worked together many years ago. He was a gentle soul who certainly added a calming presence at a time when it seemed like everything else was a bit crazy. I was glad he was able to come to my wedding a few years later. I moved away soon afterwards and lost touch with Bill, but a mutual friend just let me know he passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I just found out that Bill passed away. I was posting a birthday message on his page and saw other friends' messages. Bill and I were friends who met through Plenty of Fish. We had a lovely friendship for over two years, having so much in common. I loved our many conversations and getting the opportunity to know him & read his books. He was a truly talented writer. We talked about meeting in person, but I had so many health issues that prevented me from meeting him. We talked about him coming to see me at my house, once all the excitement was over from my daughter's wedding. It seemed like something else was always going on. The last thing I did was send Bill a Christmas card. I hope that he saw it and knew I was thinking of him. We never met face-to-face and that saddens me, but I know that i will always love and miss our friendship. Bill, you will be in my heart forever!

I am so sorry to hear about Bill. He and I, Bill Groeger, and Eric Smidt spent a lot of time together at West Point. Bill had a great sense of humor and a captivating laugh. He loved his family and I know he will be dearly missed. I-Beam!!!!!

I just read an earlier condolence (rochelle's) and it made me realize I've known bill since first grade (mrs frantz class). Went thru all of hammonton school years together. Of course HHS. Band, teachers, classmates, mutual friends. Senior year shenanigans. Going to West Point for an army-navy game. We were roommates for a year post-college. Many enjoyable telephone conversations over the years (lots of laughter, memories, awareness of good family & friends, etc). Most recently we we were planning to get together. He wanted to meet my daughters and share copies of some of his books. I just can't believe that is not going to happen. I'm still trying to understand that. I am certain that my feelings are not even close to Bill's family. Mr Dispoto and all of Bill's family: I hope in some way it helps to know that so many people loved and will miss Bill deeply. You and he are in my heart and thoughts.

I met Billy in 6th grade (Mr Vaughn’s class) and sat next to him in the HHS band. We played baritone horns. RIP classmate.
