Obituary of Shirley A. Passalacqua

Shirley A. Passalacqua (Perna), born January 25, 1947, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2023 after a courageous year of battling cancer. She went to heaven to meet her beloved husband of over 40 years, Anthony Passalacqua and her cherished granddaughter, Alyssa. The second of six siblings, she loved her family dearly. Raised in Hammonton, NJ she could be found working in her mother Alice's Beauty Salon, then later brightening clients' spirits at her own salon, Shirlee's Family Haircare, in Collings Lakes. She enjoyed her years at the Buena campground and cherished the friendships she made there. She was a helpful neighbor who made strong relationships in her community. A member of the Catholic Daughters Organization, Shirley was devout in her faith. A beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, her spunky spirit will be missed. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Alice (nee DeLosso) Perna, and her older sister, Denise A. Rapanaro. She is survived by her four siblings, Patricia Petersen (Ken), Alice Boyd, Beverly Quinn (Pat), Thomas Perna, Jr.; and countless family and friends who loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for her on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 19 Malaga Road, Collings Lakes, where a visitation will be held from 11:00-11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local Catholic Daughters of the Americas are welcome.
