Obituary of Marie C. DeLaurentis

Marie C. DeLaurentis (nee Coia), 90, of Hammonton passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday. Mrs. DeLaurentis formerly worked at Hahnemann Hospital as the head nurse in their nursery. She also worked for the State of New Jersey doing maternal and child healthcare. Mrs. DeLaurentis was the School Nurse for the Hammonton School District for 45 years. She and her husband Vincent, were the supervisors of Hammonton Lake Park for over 27 years, where they began Camp Tuscaloosa and later READ Preschool. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many of our town's residents and their children. Mrs. DeLaurentis is survived by her husband of 54 years, Vincent DeLaurentis, her children and their spouses, Dawn and Rear Admiral Karl Schultz, Dina and John Moorhead of Hammonton, Captain Vincent D. DeLaurentis, Jr. and Joan DeLaurentis of Fairfax Station, Virginia, her sister, Elizabeth Locicero of Hammonton, her ten grandchildren, Joshua, Johnny, Mindy, Kelsey, Lindsey, Vincent, III, Annaliese, Ariana, Eric and Zachary and one great grandchild, Joshua, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 10:00am in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish, Church of St. Martin de Porres Church, 129 Park Ave., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. A viewing will be held Sunday 6:00pm until 9:00pm and again on Monday 8:30am - 9:30am at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation, PO Box 1066, Hammonton.
